The Need for Secrecy
"If youre not doing anything wrong, whatve you got to hide?" This statement is oft heard from those who would invade your privacy (putting you on the defensive so they can point at your flustered expression and nod their heads, in assumption of your "obvious" guilt).
We believe very strongly that this is a valid endeavor, and that our words have the potential to benefit society. Through our words, we hope to dissuade young warriors from either taking a wrong path (negativity, unnecessary violence, crime, or self-destruction), or making avoidable mistakes which could result in serious consequences (injury, infamy, or incarceration). The warrior path can prove most treacherous at times, and the words of those whove gone before you can often be helpful.
Righteous Warrior Temple is presented solely as a Literary and Philosophical Society. We have no hidden political or theological agenda, nor are we affiliated with any other organizations. We do not actively solicit contributions or recruit new members. We do not advocate that one should think a certain way, adhere to rigid dogma, or arm themselves. We are neither extremist nor militant, and we do not consider our group to constitute a "secret society" by any stretch of the imagination. The only thing that we are "anti" would be ignorance.
You will notice, however, that very few of our essays have a byline and those that do, invariably have utilized a pseudonym. There are not any photographs of our founding members, nor are their names listed anywhere herein. Is this because we are ashamed of our work? On the contrary, it would be nice to be able to take credit for our individual contributions, but there would be unacceptable risks involved.
You see, not everyone will think that this site is a good thing. Indeed, many people would misunderstand our words, and might very well be shocked or offended. A few might even take steps to attack us personally (in a variety of sneaky underhanded ways). Some of us are unconcerned with such pettiness, but (believe it or not) a few of us are actually respected members of our communities, who could conceivably lose a great deal if some devious creature took steps to injure their reputations through false accusations.
Our membership roles, as well as the identities of our contributors, is a closely guarded secret. Secrecy is important because there are certain groups (with huge memberships and access to near unlimited funds) who might take offense at our work, and be inclined to destroy it through the use of: inflammatory propaganda, frivolous lawsuits, character assassination, computer viruses, or similar chickenshit tactics. Hopefully, such events will not come to pass, but we are aware that the possibility exists (due to this fact, youre advised to download whatever files interest you while were still in operation).
Furthermore, we are aware that many well-intended folks, whove sincerely enjoyed our work, might be inclined to seek us out in order to thank us personally. This could prove rather awkward, especially if strangers began showing up unannounced at our homes or workplaces. We are aware that a few of these well-intentioned individuals might very well be somewhat "unstable," and if one of us were unable to immediately give them the attention they felt they deserved, we might suddenly have a new enemy. Our families and co-workers do not need to be exposed to this sort of nonsense, and it is best avoided through safeguarding our privacy.
As you can clearly see, we have valid reasons for choosing to remain anonymous.
Persons wishing to contact us may do so by writing to our Post Office box (NO LONGER APPLICABLE), or sending a less secure "e-mail" message. All messages will be properly screened for security purposes.
