Critical Reviews
There is an overwhelming amount of useful information available to us in books. The research one can accomplish via the Internet is nothing compared to what one can do in a well-stocked library. Unfortunately, in order to acquire this wisdom, one must either pore through hundreds of volumes, or have someone else impart it to you.
But how can such valuable knowledge be imparted? There would be few restrictions if one were to impart this knowledge verbally, but if one wished to put these words into print (or post them upon the Internet), one would typically be required to either paraphrase them or use footnotes (after first receiving written permission from the publisher). This can be a real pain in the ass, especially when a commonly known concept has been expressed by a particular author with such brilliance. One way by which one can lawfully circumvent such restrictions is to include brief excerpts in a "critical review."
We believe that no-one holds a monopoly upon Truth. The widespread dissemination of sagacity can contribute greatly to an evolution of consciousness (as well as prevent many people from repeating the mistakes of others). We believe that this is a valid and important goal. We further believe that the authors of these works would be in complete agreement with this philosophy.
Towards this end, we have chosen to review a number of significant works (and shall continue to review others in the future). The majority of these works are highly recommended, and we strongly urge you to purchase copies of your own; however, since most of these books cost in excess of twenty dollars per volume (and lack of demand would necessitate special ordering said copies, sight unseen), we feel that by allowing you to peruse a few selected excerpts, you would be far more likely to order these fine books than if you were relying solely upon our say-so.
RWT is providing these reviews solely as a public service, and receives no compensation of any sort for doing so.
