Thoughts on Hatred
"Ignorance breeds fear, and fear breeds hatred."
unknown
This section pertains primarily to the terrorist mindset. There are many categories of terroristic act, including: mass shootings, mass poisonings, bombings, snipings, kidnappings, assassinations, and destructive vandalism. The motivation for these acts is generally one of: hatred, vengeance, intolerance, fear, or communication (presenting a threat or message to society). Targets of terrorist acts may include: persecutors (real or imagined), government officials, policemen, soldiers, despised racial groups, persons who choose to worship differently, persons of opposing political viewpoints, persons considered to be "evil," and groups of unsuspecting innocents chosen seemingly at random. There have been numerous essays and books detailing various aspects of the terrorists mentality. Here, we will attempt to condense a substantial portion of this knowledge into several pages.
There is much negativity in the world. Negativity is often due to a combination of perceived injustice and ignorance. A naive individual, living a life tarnished by mistreatment, inequality, or poverty, seeks an answer to the question "why is life unfair?" If a scapegoat is identified as the cause of the individuals dismay, rather than the individuals own inadequacies, then a target is available to lash out at. The target, being the cause of misery and injustice, is evil so to attack it is good. Thus, a gullible individual provoked into anger is easily duped by a demagogue (or his own warped thought processes) into killing "the enemy". . . even at great risk to himself. In extreme cases, a zealot will gladly martyr himself to strike a blow against the object of his hatred.
There are many individuals who feel powerless against perceived persecution, and see no other way to address it than through actual physical violence. This violence can manifest itself as an act of terrorism. Three common targets of terrorist attack include: authority figures (employers, teachers, ect.), government representatives, or members of a particular demographic (religious, ethnic, or racial). Hundreds of volumes have been written about mass murder, domestic terrorism, and hate crimes, usually just quoting statistics and detailing past events. Here, we will briefly examine the possible motivation for such activity.
Aggressive personalities are often targeted by people whose lives are completely out of control, and are seeking someone to blame for the problems theyve created (due to immaturity and a lack of social skills). While everyone might dislike or mistreat them, they focus on the most prominent threat one with the power to inflict pain with impunity. What recourse does a powerless individual have against an omnipotent employer, a dominating teacher, or a group of much stronger bullies? For some, no recourse seems to exist but a hail of hot lead. These people hate their situation so much they want to end it all, and since theyve already decided to throw it all away, whats to stop them from killing the perceived source of all their grief?
When a violent individual becomes suicidal, and decides to punish his tormenters in the most dramatic way possible before killing himself, mass murder can result. These deluded psychopaths, in the throes of homicidal rage, may choose to terminate selected targets or simply shoot everyone they see. For some peculiar reason, after "shooting their wad" in several minutes of sustained mayhem, most mass murderers suddenly become noticeably drained of energy and actually surrender to authorities (or lamely permit themselves to be captured) rather than shooting it out or eating their gun. This is because, at heart, perpetrators of random multicide versus unarmed civilians are pathetic weaklings who think an autoloading weapon will elevate them to something better than what they are.
Do government conspiracies exist? That depends on how you define "conspiracy." Yes, sometimes rules are bypassed and laws are broken in order to achieve a desired end result. Sometimes government officials meet secretly to discuss matters outside of established channels. Yes, corruption, cronyism, larceny, and vengeance are practiced by officials at every level of government. This is neither shocking nor unexpected. Such things have occurred with most governments, in most countries, since the advent of recorded history. Our government is too disorganized and inept to have perpetrated even half of the crimes attributed to it by various conspiracy theorists! Perhaps certain criminal conspiracies have been entered into by small groups of bankers, industrialists, or government officials, but absolutely no evidence exists proving a widespread network of malicious puppeteers is orchestrating world events (yes, Im familiar with the Trilateral Commission, as well as lesser known bug-a-boos of the conspiracy theorists, but their power seems not to extend beyond influencing policies through what appears to be rational discourse). The propagandists and demagogues would have you believe otherwise, for reasons of their own. If you are fearful, ignorant, and unsure of what to believe, many groups exist that would be happy to force feed you dogma and disinformation until, hanging on their every word, you find yourself under their control.
People who attack policemen or government officials often feel oppressed by a widespread elitist conspiracy against their particular demographic. The terrorist may feel that his country of origin is being threatened, his religion is being persecuted, or his belief system is being maligned by those in power. Sometimes, this may be partially correct, even if in direct opposition to official policy. Policies are implemented by men, who are often flawed. A man in power can be biased due to his ignorance or preconceptions. A skilled manipulator can take note of this bias, citing instances of unfair treatment, and convince large groups of adherents that "government at large" is the enemy.
If people are convinced that, not only have they no influence over government policies nor legal recourse from injustice, but that government "stormtroopers" might kick down their door in the middle of the night to kill or imprison them at their whim, then they will arm themselves for protection and not hesitate to shoot a policeman serving a legal warrant. Paranoia can make them threaten a policeman pulling them over for a traffic infraction or knocking on their door while canvassing the neighborhood. Sometimes, a simple confrontation with a rude clerk at a government office is sufficient to send such an individual over the edge. In extreme cases, an unprovoked attack may be initiated, such as bombing government offices or sniping at police cars. Feeling that the government has targeted their group for extermination, these deluded fools feel justified in their actions.
Certain mentally ill individuals (who tend to embrace various apocalyptic religious cults) actually believe that the government is in league with "satanic forces," that abandoned military bases are being renovated as "concentration camps," and that foreign UN troops will soon begin a campaign of genocide throughout the country most of these individuals, being uncompromising dogmatic fundamentalists, cannot be reasoned with. The true believers will quote scripture, speak of prophesies fulfilled, and dare anyone to contradict the "word of god." If you ever find yourself amongst people spouting similar nonsense, just nod, smile, and look for an opportunity to leave. Zealots will neither recognize nor appreciate your right to express yourself. . . if you are not one of them, you must be "of the devil." A lone scapegoat makes a tempting target for a frenzied mob of malcontents.
Are certain races inferior? Some people have very strong feelings on these matters. Many people talk about a particular race of people using derogatory slang words intended to demean all person of that color. They insinuate that all such people are degenerates whose presence is harmful to society. By dehumanizing them, they no longer need to recognize them as individuals, since "theyre all the same." This can be dangerous. Yes, among certain racial groups in certain areas of the country there appears to be an overwhelming amount of unemployment, poverty, crime, substance abuse, and violence but is this really due to the color of their skin, or are more complex socio-economic factors to blame? Consider that members of all races have become respected members of society, with a great many geniuses and humanitarians among them. While genetics may play a small role in developing an individuals personality, his environment (cultural teachings, parental example, interaction with peers and society) has a much stronger influence.
Are certain religions evil? Some ignoramuses think that the Jews are plotting world domination and that Unitarians and Wiccans are worshiping the devil. Anyone with a modicum of intelligence, who has done any research into comparative theology, knows these claims to be ludicrous. If any religions can be considered evil, it would be those that demand unquestioning obedience, persecution of others, and regular monetary contributions from their brainwashed adherents. Most of the worlds religions have the same core teachings, but over time, these have been edited, twisted, and misrepresented until some religions are little more than a means to exact limited control over the thoughts and actions of legions of weak-willed drones. If you are enslaved by programming which compels you to unquestioningly abide by a certain specific set of antiquated or equivocal instructions without deviation, then you are little more than an automaton incapable of free will . . . do you think this is a good thing?
Many people are ethnocentric. Pride in ones heritage and culture is not a bad thing. What is bad, is when a distrust or hatred of other ethnic, racial, or religious groups occurs. This is more prevalent than it seems. If such hatred escalates to the point that the group in question becomes dehumanized (characterized by terminology like "subhuman" or "satanic"), then violence is logically the next step. Once a group of people becomes pseudospeciated through propaganda (newsletters, websites, sermons, ect.), then it becomes a popularly accepted belief that extermination of such group is not only necessary, but desirable. Adherents are encouraged to become "lone wolves," taking action on their own to fight the common enemy. Conveniently, this often means that the propagandist cannot be prosecuted for conspiracy or incitement, as his words are usually very carefully chosen so as to make him inculpable through his right to "freely express his opinion" without specifically advocating unlawful acts of violence.
Groups of people who fear the government, or hate other races and religions, sometimes become organized. Organization usually entails: naming a leader, writing down by-laws, collecting dues, stockpiling weapons, printing literature, and networking with like-minded groups. These groups actively recruit young people, and can make membership appear desirable to one who feels out of place in society and thinks that life is unfair. The illusion of brotherhood, the acquisition of "secret knowledge," and the power derived from being a member of an armed group all seem appealing reasons to apply for membership, but it is mostly insubstantial bullshit. There is no brotherhood membership is mostly composed of weaklings, morons, and informers who feel neither kinship nor obligation to others of their ilk. Most of the "secret knowledge" is lies, misinformation, and abstract theories. The "power" of being armed will soon be taken away after the agent provocateur teaching everyone how to build pipe bombs and convert their legal assault rifles to prohibited fully automatic weapons suddenly is leading ATF raids on members homes. If you are enticed into joining such a group, you will become a pawn; you will be expected to believe what you are told by your leader without question; and it is likely that more than one government agency will begin keeping a file on you. The majority of such groups are composed mostly of ignorant, paranoid dipshits who are more of a danger to themselves than any "enemy" they might encounter. You are strongly urged to avoid contact with members of such groups.
In this life, you are responsible for your actions. If you choose not to think for yourself, but rather to blindly follow the dictates of another, you will still be held accountable for the things that you do. Life is too difficult, and far too short, to waste time and energy attacking others for no reason other than that they are different from you. Violence should be reserved for when it is truly necessary (such as in defense of ones family), rather than used to torment and persecute. Whatever action you take will precipitate a reaction, and doing violence often exposes one to the threats of retaliation or imprisonment. Just because you are capable of violence does not mean that you are obligated to indulge in violent behavior. Violence is not to be played at. Many times, an act intended as a simple prank or groundless threat goes horribly wrong . . . would you want such negative behavior to be front page news, or possibly even your last act on Earth? Think for yourself and do what you feel to be right. Do not attack or speak ill of others without due cause. Peace promotes serenity and contentment . . . go in peace.
