Frequently Asked Questions
What is your motivation for posting this site?
Our intent is primarily to inform, educate, and entertain. Please refer to our "Mission Statement" (found at our index page), as well as the document entitled "Background."
Are you some sort of Secret Society?
No, but our membership roles are secret, and our writings are posted anonymously. Please refer to the document entitled "The Need for Secrecy."
Are you advocating violence?
No quite the opposite. We hope to imbue potentially violent individuals with a sense of ethics, honor, and confidence which will better enable them to exercise restraint in the face of conflict.
Arent you concerned about children who might access your site?
While this site is certainly not intended for children, there is nothing posted here that might shock, corrupt, or injure them. There are other sites far more shocking and potentially dangerous that may be freely accessed by children whose computers lack filters (or other parental safeguards such as adequate supervision).
Arent you worried that criminals might misuse this information?
Most of the information posted at this site has a very low potential for abuse. Even commonly taught self-defense techniques have been excluded, in hopes of reducing our potential liability for enabling certain immature or unstable individuals to better victimize others. Most criminals are already capable of violence, but if they took the time to read through this entire site, they might be persuaded to rethink their lifes path.
How can someone join your group?
Membership is by invitation only, and limited only to those individuals who have made a significant literary contribution (and have met certain other requirements).
Will you be offering seminars or workshops in the near future?
This will never happen. We do not make public appearances, and are not motivated by profit.
Are you part of some anti-government militia?
No. Our group is completely apolitical and is not "anti" anything. Affiliation with any extremist group (armed militias, racial supremacists, radical activists, or religious zealots) is an automatic bar to membership
Do you engage in covert operations or illegal activities?
No.
Do you attend mass demonstrations, protests, or other activist functions?
Occasionally, two or three individual members may show up at one of these things to observe the proceedings in an unofficial capacity, but they probably wont be displaying their patches.
Your quotations section has an awful lot of statements which seem overly critical of the government and law enforcement if not actually paranoid! If, as you claim, youre not "anti-government," why would you include such un-American blasphemies?
Because, as with our other quotes, we believe them to be significant. Just because we happen to live in the "Best Country in the World" doesnt necessarily mean that we should automatically trust everything the police, government officials, and CNN (an AOL/Time Warner company) tell us. Even though they often have the best of intentions, theyve still got a lot of reasons to lie to us "for our own good". . . and, being human, they will occasionally make mistakes. Furthermore, although these quotes may have been deemed significant for one reason or another, that does not necessarily mean that we are in agreement with them but often it is helpful to view a bothersome subject from several different perspectives before it finally starts to make sense. Just because someone is your enemy doesnt automatically mean that they have nothing of value to contribute to a discussion of matters which concern them you want to know what your enemies are thinking, right?
If you have knowledge of unlawful activities by specific government officials and corporate representatives, why dont you name names?
Because this would be an inappropriate forum for that kind of activity. Although we applaud the activities of various whistleblowers and investigative journalists, Honor would prohibit us from ever disclosing Top Secret information or providing evidence for the prosecution in a court of law. Snitching in whatever form it may take is repugnant to us (and in the case of the privileged classes, it rarely seems to make any sort of difference anyhow).
What the hells the matter with you people?
Were pissed off and stupid.
What do you plan to do next?
As far as were concerned, this website project is pretty much finished. In the future we may post a few new essays submitted by applicants, and we eventually plan to break our quotations section up into its individual categories. A few members have suggested adding a new section devoted solely to fiction, but this is still under discussion. Check the "Whats New?" section for updates.
